Events at the historic Tabor Opera House for Leadville’s Boom Days celebration include a Community Talent Show, musical performances by the Vail Valley Band, and a Cowboy Church meeting. Boom Days is a three-day festival of mining heritage in Leadville and will be held over the weekend of August 2-4.

The Community Talent Show is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3. Carl Schaefer, board member of the Tabor Opera House Preservation Foundation, will be master of ceremonies, and there will be a panel of local luminaries as judges. Audience participation will determine the Audience Favorite Award. Tickets for this event are $5.

The Vail Valley Band presents pop, classic rock, country and jazz as well as originals and Broadway show tunes, beginning at 7:30 p.m Saturday. Don Watson and the Vail Valley Band have been performing both locally and around the state, the country, and even the world for 20 years.

Tickets for this event are $20 and will be available online at www.TaborOperaHouse.net, or at the box office, 308 Harrison Ave., Leadville. The box office is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.

John Peterson will lead the longstanding tradition of Cowboy Church at the Tabor, starting at 8 a.m. Sunday morning, Aug. 4. Admission to this event will be free.
