The Salida Fiber Festival will celebrate 10 years of artistic contribution this September. This year’s event will happen in-person with a smaller number of vendors and “attention to detail”. The festival will be held at Riverside Park, 170 East Sackett Ave, Salida, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on September 11 and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on September 12.

The Salida Fiber Festival was started in 2011 and it is conducted entirely by volunteers. It has become one of the premier events in Central Colorado and one of the most diverse and well-attended fiber festivals in the West.

“The festival board is looking forward to hosting an in-person festival once more and to celebrating our 10th anniversary in beautiful Riverside Park,” explained Jane Templeton.  “We are proud to present activities for everyone, even non-fiber folk, so we hope to see lots of locals visiting the festival and celebrating with us.”

The event features vendors that have a focus on all aspects of textiles, including fiber-related activities and demonstrations, a make-and-take activity tent, a silent auction tent featuring a variety of goods donated by vendors and Salida businesses, and a tree-shaded beer garden offering local beer, wine, and distilled drinks.
