The “Voice of Praise”, a high school aged choir from the First Baptist Church of Lewisville, Texas, arrives in Buena Vista Thursday, June 13.

The group, numbering 58 students, is volunteering a day’s worth of work for the Town of Buena Vista. The group will work Thursday and go rafting on Friday.

On Friday, following their rafting trip, the students are performing a free concert at 5 p.m. in South Main’s Town Square.

The Voice of Praise Choir, which traveled to Chicago last summer, performs family-friendly upbeat contemporary Christian Inspirational music.

Buena Vista’s Recreation Director, Earl Richmond is coordinating the workday.

Richmond has the volunteers spread throughout the town with 30 students committed to walking Railroad Street to clean up trash in the railroad corridor, Eight students are helping build a community garden in McPhelemy Park and 20 students filling sandbags with the Public Works Department.
