The Truth Has a Voice Foundation (THAVF) has announced its next civic engagement event: “‘The Social Dilemma” and the Social Media Impacts on Society”, set to begin at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 at  the Salida SteamPlant Event Center.

“We live in a changing world in which technology is playing an ever more prominent role,” says the Truth Has a Voice press announcement. “To better understand the impact of social media on the public’s trust in news, government, and society in general, as well as the targeted business model behind it, join us for a showing of The Social Dilemma.

The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. with the documentary film which will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by a 45-minute panel discussion focusing on the local impacts of social media.

Register at the SteamPlant website for a free ticket to this Oct. 21 event. You can either attend in person or watch the documentary on Netflix prior to that date, then join the SteamPlant for the panel portion.
