Groundbreaking set for November 3
After years in which Salida Fire Chief Doug Bess patiently explained the shortcomings of the current, more than 100-year-old fire station, and why it does not meet the public safety needs of a 21st-century mountain city, the time has come to move dirt. The site of the new fire station is 611 Oak Street in Salida
The city of Salida has officially set the date of the groundbreaking for this state-of-the-art fire station for 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 3. The public is invited to attend and much more information will be available closer to the November 3 date.
