The Joint Colorado Independent Redistricting Commissions will hold public hearings in Highlands Ranch, Woodland Park, Pueblo, Cañon City and Buena Vista this week on the preliminary maps for the state’s eight congressional districts, as well as the 65 state house and 35 senate districts.

Colorado residents will have the opportunity to testify about their communities and communicate directly with the Colorado Independent Redistricting Commissions. Coloradans will have the opportunity at each hearing to testify in person and remotely.

Coloradans are asked to sign up to testify in advance and can do so by visiting https://redistricting.colorado.gov/content/meeting-comment/

Requests for sign language interpretation, Spanish-language translation, or other accommodations can be made when signing up to testify or by contacting staff at colorado.redistricting2020@state.co.us

The draft Census redistricting map was issued in early July, long before the 2020 census figures were released. The map pictured could change substantially based on new census data that was released last week. It showed that Cahffee County had a population increase between 5.0 and 9.9 percent growth.
