Three Chaffee County journalists have been honored by the Colorado Press Association and the Colorado Broadcasters Association for their journalistic work during 2018. The award were given last weekend during their annual conferences in metro Denver.

On Friday night, April 12, Hippie Radio 97.5 Radio  (KWUZ) News Director Dan Rittenhauer received the Colorado Broadcasters Association award for Best Morning Show in small markets for 2018.

Mountain Mail Editor and Publisher Merle Baranczyk was inducted into the Colorado Press Association Hall of Fame, receiving recognition in front of his peers and colleagues. The honor was given on Saturday afternoon, April 13, during the annual press association conference luncheon in Aurora, Colorado.

Ark Valley Voice Managing Editor Jan Wondra received a CPA First Place Award for Best Business News Feature Story of 2018 for Class 3 Markets on Saturday evening, April 13 at the CPA conference in Aurora. She received the award for work she did as Corridor Editor of theCorridor.biz for The Villager Publishing Group in Denver.
