The Salida Art Walk is currently seeking area businesses for sponsorships and venue registrations for the 27th Annual Art Walk, one of the town’s signature cultural events, which will take place the weekend of June 28-30 in downtown Salida.

The Salida Art Walk is being presented this year by the High Country Bank, with assistance from the Salida Council for the Arts and the Salida Creative District. Businesses that participate as an Art Venue will be featured in the Art Walk’s printed program, as well as on the Salida Art Walk website, Facebook and Instagram pages according to Mark Rittmann, of The Maverick Potter on F Street, who serves as the chair of the Venue Registration and Sponsorship Committee.

Rittman and a team of fellow volunteers will be going door-to-door to businesses within the Salida Creative District to encourage their participation as ‘Pop-Up Art Venues’, which will feature art installations, artist meet-and-greets, and performances alongside the established galleries downtown. Rittmann is one of the 60 current volunteers who responded to the call in January, by Art Walk Committee chair Sue Ann Hum, to reorganize and revitalize the event.

“We were happily overwhelmed with the outpouring of volunteer support,” says Hum.
