Traynham Promoted to Buena Vista Chamber Executive Director

The Board of Directors for the Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce and Welcome Center has announced the promotion of Melissa Traynham from Events Coordinator to Executive Director. She joined the BV Chamber as the Events Coordinator in September of 2019 and has served in professional marketing and nonprofit management roles for the past 18 years.

She holds a degree in Communication Studies and Public Relations, and in her past roles has used her skills to help lead fundraising and communication campaigns with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The American Red Cross, and WorldDenver.

Prior to joining the Chamber team, she served as Executive Director for CU Peru, a global health NGO based in Denver, CO.

Traynham says she is passionate about our community, its success, and all the people that make Buena Vista such a special place to live. Outside of her role at the Chamber, she volunteers time with other nonprofit organizations. She has served as a mentor to a middle school youth, serves on the board of Friends of Chaffee County Fire, and is a Friend of the Board for Chaffee Arts.

Traynham will fill the ED role and continue to support chamber membership by coordinating all marketing efforts, membership services, and advertising opportunities, Welcome Center, as well as community events.

The Buena Vista Chamber of Commerce was established in 1976 and it offices at 343 U.S. 24 in Buena Vista. Its purpose is to promote and enhance the economic vitality of the surrounding community by serving as a business advocate. It is a thriving non-profit, membership-driven organization that provides a variety of services to its members.
