The La Vista development (formerly known as South Court Social) breaks ground in Buena Vista at 1:00 p.m. on December 18. La Vista is a mixed-use residential and commercial project that will provide long term rental housing and office/retail space to Chaffee County. At East Main and South Court Streets, there will be sixteen residential one and two-bedroom apartments and multiple modular commercial spaces.

Each residential unit will have a walk-out balcony featuring mountain views of the 12 tallest peaks in Colorado. La Vista developers, Bus Stop BV LLC, say they have paid attention to the details of the project with amenities including high-speed connectivity, modern appliances, accessible bike storage, private parking and the conveniences of downtown. Among its many attractive features, the Main St. development is located minutes away from backcountry and forest access as well as fishing and whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River.

Owner Carol Kelly said, “Our aim is to provide comfort, convenience, and connectivity to the residents and businesses of La Vista. We recognize that the ability to work remotely has become essential, so we will be ensuring that high-speed internet will be accessible here at the crossroads of the Rockies.”

The developers anticipate construction to take around two years. The developers have partnered with Allen-Guerra Architecture, Highline Builders, Kitchenscapes and Legacy Bank on the project.

As they began to envision the project, they  say they gained valuable insights from the Historic Preservation Commission and the Town of Buena Vista to ensure that the historic charm of Buena Vista remains intact during the continued growth of the town.
