The William Boddy Passion to Learn Scholarship provides free art and performance classes to the public, while paying the instructors to teach. Two Saturday classes have been scheduled for Nov. 2 and again on Nov. 9.

From noon to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, there will be a free workshop with Saz Dance Theatre’s located at Hi Steppin Studio located at 934 E Rainbow Boulevard Unit B in Salida. Saz Dance Theatre is asking those interested in attending that they pre-register by calling (710) 221-4583 or by visiting their web site www.salidasazdance.webs.com.

From 1 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 9, there will be a free Smashed Cookie Tin Jewelry workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to cut, smash and alter recycled cookie tins and assemble these into boho style jewelry. Students will cut up vintage metal tins, then smash, texture, mark and reassemble them into earrings, charms, or pins. Each participant will take home two or more pieces of jewelry. The event is open to all levels with space limited, accepting 10 participants max.
