On Thursday, August 6, at approximately p:00 a.m., the Chaffee County Communications Center received information of a man staying in a small cabin north of Nathrop who had several outstanding arrest warrants.
Deputies were able to verify that the subject, 45-year-old Ashley Bednarek, from Salida, had numerous warrants for his arrest, including three felony warrants. They learned the subject had threatened violence on law enforcement if they attempted to arrest him.
Members of the Chaffee County Combined Tac Team responded to the location. After deploying remote technology it was determined that the subject in question was in fact in the structure. Tac Team members made contact with the male and he exited without further incident.
Bednarek was taken into custody and transported to the Chaffee County Detention Facility where he is being held on the following outstanding warrants:
Two counts Misdemeanor FTA Chaffee County
One county Felony FTA Chaffee County
One count Felony FOJ Gunnison County
One count Felony FOJ Buena Vista PD
