A forum on Ballot Question No. 1 in Salida’s Sept. 25 special election will take place from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at City Council Chambers, 448 E. First St. in Salida.

Salida voters will be asked whether or not to approve the proposed Salida Crossings mixed-use planned development on U.S. Highway 50.

Former mayor Jim LiVecchi, who submitted the petition that forced the special election, and Salida Crossings developer Duane Cozart will participate in the forum with Mountain Mail Managing Editor Paul Goetz moderating.

The public will be allowed to ask questions at the forum for as long as time permits.

The question, as it will appear on the ballot, reads, “Shall the City of Salida adopt ordinance 2018-04, an Ordinance of the City Council for the City of Salida, Colorado, approving a major impact review for a 3.15-acre parcel located at 1520 Highway 50 currently zoned C-1 to place a planned development overlay on the property and approve the development plan for Salida Crossings?”
