Wild Connections will host the Grape Creek Wilderness Day Hike from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on April 10. This is a BLM Wildlands outing with a maximum of 10 participants.
The hike will take place at Sunset City Gulch, a little-visited scenic canyon on the western end of Grape Creek. This area is a proposed wilderness area that is awaiting congressional action.
The group will gather in Cañon City at 8:45 a.m. and caravan to the trailhead west of Royal Gorge. It is a moderate hike and participants are encouraged to bring lunch, a snack, water, clothing suitable for the weather conditions and footwear suitable for on-trial hiking.
COVID-19 precautions will be maintained so participants will be required to bring a mask. Due to these precautions, no carpool is planned. For more information or to register for the hike, contact John Stransfield at 303-660-5849 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration for the event is required.
