Start your carbo-loading now, the annual Autumn Run series put on by One Love Endurance is set to take place this year on Saturday, September 16. The Autumn Run event includes a half-marathon, a 10k, a 5k and a kid’s race. The Autumn Run is held each year on the third Saturday in September, and takes runners through Buena Vista and its surrounding, hyper-picturesque natural environment.

The marquee event, the half-marathon, will begin at 9:30 a.m., starting at Cottonwood Lake. The course will take runners down from Cottonwood Lake and finish at McPhelemy Park. Participants must meet at McPhelemy Park in Buena Vista before 8:00 a.m., since the shuttle bus up to Cottonwood Lake will be leaving the park promptly at 8:00 a.m.

The 10k begins at 9:30 a.m. as well and begins at McPhelemy Park. Runners will be treated to a lovely view of Mt. Princeton as they run west along Crossman Ave.

The 5k race begins at 10:00 a.m., also using McPhelemy Park as a two-for-one, start and end point. The kids fun run will start just after the 10k kicks of, and will be around McPhelemy Park itself.

To register for one of the above races, click here. The half-marathon costs $90, the 10k $55, the 5k costs $35 for entry and the kids run is free.

The day will conclude with a celebration in McPhelemy Park, including music by The Roundhouse Assembly and Blue Rooster, food trucks such as Peaks n’ Pita and a beer garden put together by the Eddyline Brewery.

All those registered for the race will receive a commemorative t-shirt, and finishers will get a commemorative steel cup as well. Half-marathon and 10k participants get a Hydrapak collapsible, reusable cup. Hydrapak sponsors the Autumn Run and helps make its “Cupless Race” distinction possible. No waste for this run!

Wild Soles Running is providing a half-marathon training plan for free, complete not only with a race-readying workout plan, but packed with inspiration material as well.
