The county’s youth and their families are invited by the Chaffee County Youth Alliance (CCYA) to a Back to School “Picnic in the Park” event set from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, at McPhelemy Park in Buena Vista.
The event is being organized by CCYA together with the Chaffee Family & Youth Initiatives (FYI) team.
The entire event is free family fun open to anyone who wants to come.
“There will be food, SUPs for the town lake, and games (I’ve heard Kenny Wilcox talking up a pretty big spike ball game recently),” explains CCYA Coalition Coordinator Craig Bingham.
It’s also an opportunity to get a glimpse into the larger Chaffee County FYI community and make connections, including with the Chaffee County mentors and parenting education classes.
The event is also sponsored by Atmos Energy and CKS River Supply.
