A record crowd packed into Riverside Park this past weekend for the 27th Annual Brewers Rendezvous. The Saturday, July 8 event in Salida celebrated beer,  craft beer-making and the fun of a Colorado mountain festival.

The event featured 70 Colorado craft breweries from all around the state. Participating breweries included everything from local favorite breweries like Soulcraft, Elevation, Salida Brewing Company, Tres Litros, and Eddyline Brewing, to breweries like Hideaway from Winter Park and Guanella Pass Brewery from Georgetown.

Proceeds for the event went to the Colorado Brewers Guild (CBG) and the Salida Chamber of Commerce.

Eventgoers came from across the state to sample hundreds of beers from light pilsners to fruity ales to hefty stouts.

While certainly not scientific, beer tasters  Ark Valley Voice spoke with pointed out a few favorites. Among them: from Hideaway’s limited edition Doc Susie Barrel Aged Stout, to the Burns Family Brewery’s Artemesia Stout, Guanella Pass’s Spicy Burrito, and Mango Habanero Lager.

Once the thirst was quenched, a plethora of food trucks offered food to fill bellies, while music in the park added the crowning touch of entertainment to carry the 27th Annual Brewers Rendezvous into the history books … at least until next summer.
