The schedule for the Chaffee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) has been revised a bit for next week. The normal BoCC Monday morning work session has been canceled. The regular commissioner meeting is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 13 in the commissioners’ meeting room at 104 Crestone Avenue in Salida.

The agenda items include a public hearing on proposed changes to the boundaries of Commissioner Districts 1, 2, and 3.

A philosophical and legal discussion is listed on the agenda: exploring policy solutions for mitigating the impacts of rapid growth and visitation in Chaffee County.

The agenda includes acceptance and approval of the Right of Way for Cottonwood Pass, CO FLAP CHA 306(1), the massive collaborative project that improved CR 306 over the pass, and the awarding of the bid for the Granite Bridge Project.

Also on the agenda is a discussion on county support for a Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) low-head dam removal efforts and review for approval of the Title V Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Landfill Permit.

The commissioners will consider a request for the acceptance of a major subdivision application during the temporary moratorium (Consideration of Resolutions 2022-41 and 2022-74), by applicant Joe Cooper. The temporary moratorium is in place while the county completes revisions to the Chaffee Land Use Code, to bring it in sync with the county’s revised Comprehensive Plan.

The agenda lists a possible executive session for the BoCC “for purposes of receiving legal advice on specific legal questions pertaining to the office of the District Attorney.”

The meeting will also be broadcast as usual on Zoom at this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/109079543 or by dialing 719 359 4580 Meeting ID: 109 079 543.
