It may look as if the agenda for the August 1, 2023 regular meeting of the Chaffee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) is a short one, but that is only because a major portion of the meeting will see the BoCC convened as the Board of Equalization to review five appeals for property valuations.

Convening at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Meeting Room at 104 Crestone Avenue in Salida, the board will address contracts and grants, including the lowest bid for a Vac Truck for the Road and Bridge Department, and ratification of the submission of a Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) EIAF Grant application for Salida Airport capital improvements.

The day’s consent agenda includes a variety of items, many of which have already been discussed as public hearings before the BoCC in previous meetings. Among them the Timber Creek Major Subdivision Final Plat as Directed at the July 18 2023 Meeting, and Approval Resolution 2023-76 Approving Townsite of Cleora Lot Line Eliminations, Townsite of Cleora Boundary Line Adjustments, and Townsite of Cleora Road Vacations as Directed at the July 18 2023 Meeting, and approval of  Resolution 2023-80; approving the Love Correction Plat Amendment.

Reconvened as the Board of County Commissioners following the property valuation reviews, the single agenda item is an executive session “To hold a conference with the County’s attorney to receive legal advice on specific legal questions about potential pending litigation, pursuant to C.R.S. § 24-6-402(4)(b).”
