The Chaffee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) will convene at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 4 in the Commissioners Meeting Room at 104 Crestone Avenue, Salida for the first of two December regular work sessions.

The morning agenda is a short one, focused on a proposal from the City of Salida for a commitment to the South Ark Neighborhood Phase 1 Development.
The BoCC will also get an update from the Chaffee County Attorney’s Office, before breaking for lunch, and reconvening at 1:15 p.m. At that time it will receive an update from the various land management agencies and stakeholders, followed at 2:15 p.m. by an update from Colorado’s Congressional leadership.

What they need to do is prevent issues like we have out here in Smeltertown from destroying the lives of those already living in that area. We are tortured here all day and all night with construction related noise and also violations of laws intended to protect residents from things like idle semis. It is our opinion that the jerk at the trucking company is simply mobbing and getting away with it when he allows semis to idle beside our neighborhood all night. With the semi noise all day along with the quarry and the addition of Y&K and Pridemore heavy equipment and dust mountains that are not hindered from assaulting our neighborhood, we are under assault day and night with a nonstop rumble that prevents sleep and thought and has been reported to cause developmental and attention issues in children and adults living in such an environment. I can tell you that for me the loss of sleep equals seizures and a loss of life and the will to live it. Many people and businesses who run heated, lit, air conditioned grow houses at the expense of peace and dark skies. The county does not regulate any of these problems and will fight you rather than honestly deal with them. The people surrounding this project need to be very concerned. I can assure you that the developers do not care if they kill you with their business and will cheap out whatever they can without a care for noise or life.
