One of the favorite food events in the Arkansas River Valley is coming up this month. On Monday, July 24, Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity will host their ninth annual Mac and Cheese Bake-Off fundraising event. The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort at 15870 Co Rd 162 in Nathrop .

In addition to the bake-off, the fundraising effort will include a silent auction of items donated from businesses across Chaffee County. Bidding will take place online and will open at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 21, three days before the fundraiser. Bidding will close at 7:15 p.m. during Monday’s event.

To purchase a ticket, enter a dish in the bake-off, donate items to or bid on items in the silent auction, click here. Adult tickets purchased prior to the event will cost $25 and $35 if purchased on the day of the event. Children’s tickets are $10.

The bake-off is open to individuals, restaurants, church groups, businesses—anyone who makes a good mac and cheese dish and has the competitive spirit burning inside them. Attendees of the event will be able to taste all the dishes and vote on their favorites. Prizes will be awarded to those who place first, second or third in the different categories for individuals and restaurants.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly to Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity to aid their efforts to build homes and communities across the Chaffee County area. For those interested in winning a variety of coupons, vouchers, merchandise and even a power tool or two, remember to check in on the silent auction once it opens up.
