The declaration of a State of Local Emergency is now extended till May 6, allowing the council to visit further action at their next scheduled meeting on May 5.  As the coronavirus (known as COVID-19) pandemic continues to change, this allows the council to adapt to what the city needs.

Ordinance 2020-07 was also approved by the council, which amends Chapter Six of the Municipal Code concerning short term rentals. The change allows short term rental licenses to be obtained at any time during the year, within three zoning districts where the use is permitted by right.

Clarity and consistency within all chapters as it relates to short term rentals are also achieved through this Ordinance .

There was also a discussion on the potential for grant opportunities for people within the community who have been helping health care workers in unique, creative ways.

Discussion of newly-paved roads and parking in downtown Salida were also addressed, as there will now be 16 more parking spaces than before, downtown on G Street between Sackett and First.
