The Colorado Community Theatre Coalition begins its 30th annual Community Theater Festival Wednesday, July 11, at the SteamPlant Event Center, 220 W. Sackett Ave., Salida.

This four-day event, July 11-14, features live theatrical performances, professional workshops, an acting competition and a silent auction, all open to the public.

The Colorado Community Theatre Coalition is a statewide theater organization that promotes and enriches community-based theater in Colorado.

“Salida has welcomed us with open arms every year,” said festival Co-Chair Kimberly Jongejan. “The SteamPlant and the Salida community have consistently supported the performing arts in such a tangible way. Bringing the CCTC Festival here literally rejuvenates our participants so that they can, in turn, bring that vitality and energy back to their own communities.”

General workshops are $10 for the public; master workshops are $25. Tickets to performances will be $10 at the door. Passes for all workshops and performances are available for $65. Performances, workshop topics, presenters and tickets are available on the CCTC’s website, www.cctcfestival.org.
