Chaffee County Community Foundation Relaunches Volunteer Portal

Springtime is the season for freshening up our environment, both outdoors as well as inside. We spend so much time daily on websites and they too, need a new look to increase their value and keep us actively engaged.

With that in mind, the Chaffee County Community Foundation (CCCF) has unveiled their second-generation volunteer matchmaking platform “Chaffee VOLUNTEERS“.

The site is a makeover of its innovative volunteer portal, a dynamic platform designed to revolutionize the way individuals connect with meaningful volunteer opportunities.

Why is a volunteer portal a key to Chaffee County vitality?

CCCF says it recognizes the pivotal role that volunteering plays in building stronger communities and fostering positive change. With this in mind, they are offering new ways for volunteers and nonprofit organizations to engage with the volunteer portal to seamlessly connect passionate people with organizations dedicated to creating a lasting impact.

In 2021, CCCF’s staff and board responded to requests from the more than 100 area nonprofits. While some had their own volunteer recruiting and tracking programs, many were cumbersome, spreadsheet-based efforts. These allowed for missed opportunities and wasted potential, attracting and retaining the volunteers that are doing vital, good work everywhere in Chaffee.

With its innovative, original online platform “Volunteers In Action” the site VIAChaffee.org attracted over 1,500 interested volunteers.

What does the updated Volunteer Portal offer?

In 2021, CCCF introduced the concept of a community-wide portal that allowed interested volunteers the ability to search available volunteer roles across the community, and offer volunteer recruitment, tracking, coordinating, and management tools to nonprofit organizations. Now, based on feedback from these nonprofit organizations, potential volunteers, and key stakeholders, CCCF has undertaken a full site update including a name change.

“Following the concept of Chaffee GIVES, our successful regional year-end giving campaign, we’ve embraced the name Chaffee VOLUNTEERS” said Betsy Dittenber, Executive Director of CCCF . “We’ve also added more ways for nonprofit organizations to interact with the site from static pages to single volunteer postings, all the way to accessing all the volunteer management benefits the site has to offer.”
