The Colorado Farm Bureau (CFB) presented Rep. Doug Lamborn with its Friend of Farm Bureau Award Oct. 1, at his district office in Colorado Springs. CFB recognized him for his contributions to Colorado agriculture. This prestigious award is given at the end of each Congress session to members actively working to support agriculture and rural Colorado and who support Farm Bureau policy.

“I am honored to accept this award on behalf of all farmers and ranchers in our district,” said Lamborn in a statement. “Our farmers and ranchers make up the backbone of our economy and provide much-needed resources. I will always work to ensure our agricultural industry remains strong and robust and free of Washington bureaucratic control.”

“Colorado farmers and ranchers have struggled with low commodity prices, water issues and natural disasters such as wildfires,” said District 6 Colorado State Farm Bureau Board Member Gary Paul. “The Friend of Farm Bureau award goes to policy leaders who understand how difficult it has been to grow much-needed products such as food and grains in this environment.

Paul continued, “The Colorado Farm Bureau is very thankful for Lamborn’s work that supports agriculture… We are proud to award the Friend of Farm Bureau Award to Lamborn for representing Colorado farm and ranch families in Congress.”
