The next First Friday event, “heARTS & chocolate” is on tap from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. this Friday, Feb. 2 in downtown Salida’s Creative District.

Participating galleries at February First Friday event

February’s First Friday features an art and chocolate theme. Art patrons and fun-lovers can enjoy a festive evening downtown talking with artists while sampling a sweet treat.  With a variety of price ranges, something is cure to catch the eye — an impulse purchase of a piece of art makes a unique, hand-crafted gift for Valentines Day.

Visitors can also pick up a blank palette card at any of the galleries. Like a passport book, it’s fun to collect a stamp at each gallery you visit. When adults (18+) return a completed card, they can pick out an art mini, while supplies last. The galleries are planning demos, live music, and chocolate.

From painting to sculpture, ceramics, photography, plein air, jewelry, fiber arts, and more, Salida’s many artist-owned and operated galleries and creative businesses hope you’ll interact with the artist, ask questions, watch a demo and build a unique collection.
