On Friday, students from Longfellow Elementary School got a treat. Salida Police Department Commander Spenser Blades shared his time with students, donning a Dr. Seuss hat and reading from a favorite selection.
The annual “Read with a Cop” special event gives students a chance to spend time with a member of the police department in a familiar setting.
