Need a button sewn on? Or a hem reattached? Or a tear mended?

The July Mend-It Monday is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday, July 17, in the basement of the United Methodist Church (corner of 4th and E—come in from the parking lot).

This community service is staffed by volunteer sewists who will be able to handle basic mending of clothing. Consider what clothing items might need a bit of mending, but note: they don’t fix zippers or work on leather.

The goal, is not just to provide a service to members of the community who might not have sewing skills, but to give clothes a new life and keep such items out of the county landfill.
