A discussion regarding the Salida Recreation, Parks and Trails and Open Space Master Plan Process is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 25 in the auditorium of the SteamPlant Event Center. The SteamPlant at 220 W. Sackett Ave. in Salida is managed under the city’s Parks and Recreational programming area.

Mike “Diesel” Post, the new Parks and Recreation Director as of June 6, will lead the discussion, engaging the community in an informative session and discussion on the future for parks and recreation in Salida.

According to the City of Salida, the development of the Salida Parks and Recreation Master plan will influence the decisions made around parks and recreation in Salida for the next 10 to 15 years. Post says he is encouraging citizens of Salida to get involved with the decision-making process. Attending the meeting to ensure citizen voices are heard is a first step in assuring that citizen recreation needs of the future will be met.
