Mark your calendars now. The 29th annual Salida Art Walk is scheduled for June 23-26 with a free kick off party at the SteamPlant Ballroom from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on June 23.  The kick-off will feature music by David Tipton and Jeff Koch and the popular Mini-Masterpiece exhibit and silent auction.

The kick-off event will include a food truck and cocktails in the courtyard and you can head inside the Annex to bid on your mini-masterpiece, a 4″×4″ or 4″×6″ original piece of art created by Art Walk artists. Bidding will start at $25 with proceeds going to next year’s event.  High Country Bank will be sponsoring a wine-glass painting activity as well –  details coming soon.

During the weekend over 40 galleries and businesses will host artists with extended hours and evening receptions. Participant, Leslie Jorgensen said that there were more businesses participating this year and they were expecting a nice turnout.

Joshua Been executes a large-format demonstration painting in his signature Impressionistic Realism style (photo by Joe Stone).

  • Community Art Project at Riverside Park
  • Local art displayed at the Paquette Gallery through the month of June
  • Van Gogh’s “Bedroom at Arles” at Box of Bubbles allows patrons to “step inside” this iconic painting
  • Plein-Air Painting on F Street
