Just in time for our warmer, sunnier weather comes the annual Thursday Summer Concert Series in Riverside Park, produced by the City of Salida Arts & Culture Division.

Eight-week series at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday, June 29

Local favorite Mo’Champipple and the Meso Horns launch the 2023 series. Mo’Champipple is described as a “funky seven-piece ensemble with horns and an attitude! Solid rhythms, driving beats, screaming guitars and stabbing horns. If you have a big stage, they have a big sound.”

Dance music for sure.

Austin, Texas-based Patrice Pike Band follows on July 6

Patrice Pike has performed onstage with many artists including Dave Matthews, Sarah McLachlan, Natalie Merchant, Blues Traveler, the Allman Brothers and the Indigo Girls as well as opening sets for the late great Ray Charles, Cake, Soul Asylum, Cheap Trick, The Neville Brothers and more.

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Pike has played Austin City Limits Festival seven times, as well as Kerrville Folk, High Sierra, Strawberry Festival, and also legendary venues in the U.S. and Europe including Colorado’s own Red Rocks.

The Riverside Park Summer Concert Series is an annual tradition, welcoming locals and visitors alike to relax, enjoy a picnic, listen (and dance!) to a mix of local and touring acts, all with free admission.

There’s room to spread out blankets and chairs and a limited selection of concessions are available for purchase to supplement your picnic basket. The mood is mostly mellow, kids are welcome, but concertgoers are asked to leave their dogs at home, to keep the park, safe and clean for all.
