“I have always been in support of educational opportunities. I think that the leadership here in Salida here has been [outstanding] about helping the kids learn how to dream,” said Post. “I would like to help to continue that forward.”

Actively involved in the community already, Post serves as the chair of the Economic Development Corporation, in addition to serving as secretary-treasurer on the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center Board. Post also owns and is a broker for First Colorado Land Office.

Post, born and raised in Salida, talked about living in a little home in the Salida downtown area. Post’s children are the sixth generation to grow up in Salida.

Post said that his many roles in the community and his other commitments can aid and assist on the school board. “Right now the district has some pretty big decisions coming up and they are important in my opinion for both the schools and the community… I want to be able to have a voice at the table during this important period.”

He will be participating in the Salida School District Board August, and says he’ll gain a better sense of the goals and objectives in his new role. Post said “As of right now [he] is not appointed to any committees, but that will soon be coming.”

“I appreciate the community’s support and I am always here for questions and comments. I’m an open book. I love the community and I love the schools…I am here to listen, more than opinion.”
