Additionally, the school principals will present to the Board about how they are fulfilling the “Constructive” aspect of the 7 C’s.

According to the school’s website, being Constructive means, “Acting with the purpose of building a positive result by creating goals toward a vision, executing action toward goals by intentionally and effectively initiating and finishing tasks, [and] implementing a hopeful, optimistic, self-reflective and self-disciplined mindset to see things through.”

The superintendent report will focus on technology. Board members will also provide updates on the Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), District Accountability Committee (DAC), Elementary/Preschool Campus Committee, and board member correspondence.

Monitoring reports will review GP 9: Board Member’s Code of Conduct, EL 8: District Calendar, Administrative Policy K: School, Community, Home Relations, and Administrative Policy L: Education Agency Relations.

The consent agenda includes the usual approval of contracts, notification of employment agreements, resignation or retirement, a resolution regarding Glacier Bank, and the February Financial Board report.

The agenda states, “The Board of Education may move into Executive Session for reasons allowable pursuant Colo. Rev Stat. 24-6-402 (4).” There is no mention of a reason for any possible executive session.

There is also no mention in the agenda of a recent concern raised by parents regarding the treatment of LGBTQIA+ students in the district. This topic was identified at the previous meeting as an action item requiring review of policy. It will likely show up in a future BoE meeting.

The next regular meeting of the BV BoE is set for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 18.
