The Chaffee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) will convene for their regular meeting at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16 in the Buena Vista Community Center at 715 E. Main St. Buena Vista. The meeting will also be available on Zoom.

On the agenda are two public hearings:

  • A second opportunity to consider two possible ballot measures; the first on the potential reallocation of the county’s Visitor Lodging Tax. The second is to consider raising Commissioner term limits from two terms to three total terms. The session will include a listening session and the BoCC discussion.
  • A Public Hearing for Module 1 of the update to the county’s Land Use Code (LUC). The BoCC will be considering the recommendations made by the Chaffee County Planning Commission, during their two public hearings on this LUC section in early August. Prior to the meeting, the BoCC will have received and reviewed public comments to date and the discussion will include public comments.

Also on the agenda, is consideration of a contract for Chaffee County Landfill of a Geosynthetic Liner and Membrane Installation, and an executive session Under CRS 24-6-402(4)(B) For Purpose of Receiving Legal Advice on Specific Legal Issues Involving Personnel and Employment Matters.

The BoCC will receive highlights of the Treasurer’s Report: The balance sheet as of July 28, 2022 is  $42,998,051 in funds. Among the largest fund balances contained within that total are the following:
