Cleora North Planned Development

The Chaffee Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) will meet in regular session beginning at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9 in the Commissioners Meeting Room at 104 Crestone Avenue, Salida. Among items on the regular agenda is an update from the Chaffee Housing Authority and a public hearing on the Cleora North Planned Development – Final Plan. That public hearing is a continuation of the March 5, 2024 public hearing.

Among items on the meeting’s consent agenda will be approval of two proclamations:

  • Formal approval of April 2024 Child Abuse Prevention Month
  • A Declaration of  May 2024 Lyme & Other Tick-Borne Diseases/Conditions Awareness Month

The Hearing Consent Agenda contains only one item. (Note that agenda items are listed on the Hearing Consent Agenda because no testimony is expected.) Tuesday’s hearing consent agenda is approval of the Yellen Heritage Water Subdivision Exemption, located at 27636 County Road 340 Buena Vista. The request is to subdivide a 10.37 acre parcel into two parcels, one measuring approximately 4.08 acres and the other measuring approximately 6.29 acres.

The continued public hearing on the Cleora North Planned Development will review the final plan for the approximately 55 acres of the historic townsite, east of the Salida Wastewater Treatment Plant and railroad tracks. BLM land lies to the north and east of the subject property. The parcel is zoned Industrial and Recreational. The final plan requests setbacks and allowed uses in a portion of the Cleora townsite.

A second agenda item known as the Cleora North Plat Amendment, if approved, will add easements and additional plat notes to the existing plat, which can be found at Reception #490477.

The final item on the BoCC regular agenda is the consideration of a request for a Letter of Support from the Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments for their USDA-Rural Development 523 grant application

At the conclusion of the regular agenda, the BoCC will convene as the Board of Equalization to consider an abatement of taxes for 209 M Street, Salida, for the 2023 Tax Year.
