The group will consider approval of the minutes from its January 22 meeting, then move on to its primary agenda.

The Right to Ranch Board will  review its policies and procedures, with a focus on whether these policies and procedures are in line with state statutes.

While counties can enforce Right to Farm and Ranch statutes with greater  protections for farmers and ranchers than the state statutes, counties cannot attempt to weaken the protections afforded by the State of Colorado. In the past few years, some rural residents have questioned whether or not the county statutes are in line with state protection.

At this point, as the county has declared a COVID-19 public health emergency, there is, as yet, no information about virtual meeting capabilities for this meeting, as opposed to holding an in-person session.

EDITOR’S NOTE: DUE TO THE COUNTY’S COVID-19 EMERGENCY RESPONSE, COUNTY BUILDINGS ARE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  NO WORD HAS BEEN RECEIVED YET ON WHETHER THIS MEETING WILL MOVE TO AN ONLINE STATUS.
