A joint work session is planned for the City of Salida and the Salida Planning commission starting at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 16.

On Friday, March 13 the City of Salida issued a COVID-19 Action Plan, in which the response is currently at Tier III. The COVID-19 Action Plan asks that the members of the public who wish to comment on action items are strongly encouraged to provide their feedback in writing rather than in person, feedback which will be read into the public record.

On the agenda for the joint work session is a discussion concerning the Right-of-Way vacation and rezoning requests from the Chaffee County Housing Trust for a proposed project that would take place at the corner of E. Crestone Ave. and 3rd St.

Council gave direction to Staff to begin processing applications for the proposed project in a Salida City Council regular meeting back on Oct. 15, 2019. The Chaffee Housing Trust (CHT) and the City of Salida facilitated a meeting on March 4 with neighbors and citizens located within the area of the proposed project. In the March 4 meeting, concerns from the citizens were recorded as community feedback and will be included in the packets of the City Council and the Salida Planning Commission in their future meetings.

All meetings are also broadcast on Channel 191 and on YouTube, which are great alternatives to attending in person. The City will continue to evaluate conditions daily and implement appropriate actions as outlined in the COVID-19 Action Plan.
