An unforgettable River Conservation and Fly Fishing experience for Youth Ages 14-18

For those families that want their kids to truly experience the great outdoors, registration is now open for the Colorado Trout Unlimited (CTU) Camp at a guest ranch near Almont, Colorado. The  June 9-15 camping experience emphasizes STEM activities, conservation, and outdoor skills like fly fishing. Youth don’t have to know anything about fishing to attend the camp; the camp experience includes experienced fishing instructors.

According to Colorado Trout Unlimited, the CTU Camp is not just a week in the mountains. It’s an opportunity to inspire the next generation of river stewards and conservation-minded anglers and it is often life-changing to meet other young folks from all over the state.

The camp promises a “safe, fun, and inclusive environment” where, participants will explore “the profound connections between conservation, a love for the outdoors, and the art of fly fishing”.

For the past 15 years, the local Collegiate Peaks Chapter of Trout Unlimited (TU) has paid for about 20 students (including current students and teachers) to attend this comprehensive youth camp. Campers must pay a $50 registration fee and the camp includes all meals and a fishing rod/reel combo.

For more information or to apply, go to https://coloradotu.org/youthcamp. The application deadline is April 1, 2024.
