The Salida Creativity Lab hosted the 4th annual Chinese Lunar New Year: Asia Fest 2020 with a Dragon Parade on Saturday, Feb. 8, to celebrate Asian culture.

The dragon ‘floats’ were constructed by students and community artists throughout the month of January and were featured in the parade.

Community members met at Alpine Park to assemble for the parade, before  traveling down F Street to Riverside Park. Appearances were made in the parade  by Salida Circus and the Salida Middle School Groove Battalion.

The term “Dragonfest” has a cultural and artistic history. In California, it is also the name of the most popular and greatest martial arts and Asian cultural convention in the world, which this year takes place in Burbank, CA.
