Call it a grown-up challenge — but “bee” there. “Elevating Readers Together” is hosting their second annual Adult Spelling Bee from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12 at Tres Litros, 118 North E Street, Salida.
Organizers invite interested adults, those who love words and can sound out words even after a refreshment or two, to attend and participate.
Elevating Readers Together has a mission to ensure that a diversity of books get into the hands of Salida area youth. Three book vending machines are already in place in the Salida School District. These machines are placed in the elementary, middle, and high schools. They are stocked with books for the students’ semester reading.
The vision of Elevating Readers Together is to support and expand community organizations providing Salida area youth with access to quality literature.
