In vibrant Salida, the Central Mountain Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has spotlighted a story of “transformation and entrepreneurial zeal.” The SBDC shared the journey of Jessica Sorden, who is the visionary force behind Envision Web Designers.

Sorden spent years in corporate life as an E-Commerce Manager. But when the years took their toll and led to burnout, Sorden’s life changed following the birth of her child.

She embraced the world of attachment-centric parenting and became a Baby-Led Sleep and Well-Being Specialist and a Certified Lactation Consultant, finding new roots in motherhood. But she found that her professional aspirations too called for a change.

The catalyst came through the Central Mountain SBDC. Sorden’s entrepreneurial confidence increased after engaging in their one-on-one business consulting.

Her involvement in the LeanUp Start + Scale Series Cohort and the Female Freelancer Mastermind Series, which were provided by the SBDC, ignited her journey.

She spent eight interactive hours crafting her Lean Canvas and business plan and vetting new product ideas on paper. These platforms helped to hone her business acumen and gave insights to her low-cost actionable tactics. They also connected her with like-minded entrepreneurs, fortifying her presence in the High Rockies business community.

At the heart of Sorden’s success is Envision Web Designers. Specializing in tailored WordPress and Shopify websites, the company supports solo and small businesses, both locally and globally. Her expertise in on-site search engine optimization and compelling messaging offers clients an online recipe for success.

Sorden’s role extends beyond web design. As an expert in SBDC’s Marketing Power Hour, she educates others in ‘Get More Organic Website Traffic – Easy On-Page SEO Improvements’ and ‘Online Store – E-Commerce Best Practices + Emerging Trends.’

Reflecting on her journey, Sorden said that she appreciates the support from Central Mountain SBDC. “What I realized when setting up my business was – I don’t need to do this alone,” shared Sorden. “I needed to be around people that lift me up, think differently, and propose new ideas.”

The SBDC holds up Envision Web Designers as more than just a business. “It’s a testament to Sorden’s dedication and the power of community support and innovative thinking in entrepreneurship.”
