The Lake County Public Health Agency (LCPHA) and Lake County Office of Emergency Management (LCOEM) have restarted their weekly report on COVID-19 status and resources “due to local and statewide concern.”
Lake County has 11 new COVID cases in the past seven days. Lake County stands at 65.8 percent of its residents who have had at least one dose of vaccine. In total since March 2020, the county has had 865 cases, and only one death.
A total of 4504 residents (55.4 percent)  have had one vaccine dose, and 3,985 residents ( 49 percent) are fully vaccinated.
Currently, Lake County is operating only under the Colorado State Limited COVID-19 Restrictions Public Health Order 20-38 (the fifth amended version).  But there are no current Lake County Public Health Orders in place.
Lake County School District COVID-19 Guidance is fairly non-restrictive. For instance, its overall COVID-19 guidance welcomes self-directed protection such as face masks – and in the Superintendent’s message recommends them for all, and requires them for ages 12 and younger. It makes no mention of encouraging vaccines for teachers, or those students who are eligible:

“The district will continue to partner with Lake County’s local public health (LCPHA) in the development of health measures toward our pandemic response plan. Individuals are welcome to take more preventative, self-directed measures such as wearing masks all the time. In addition to the specific protocols outlined below, Lake County School District (LCSD) is working to create the safest environment possible for our students through tried-and-true disease prevention measures such as standard health and hygiene practices.”
