Leadville and Twin Lakes have announced the launch of the ‘Share the Love Online Holiday Marketplace’ to benefit small businesses and local organizations during this holiday season. This site is a unique shop that allows community members to purchase gifts from historic mountain towns.

Partners in Leadville and Twin Lakes have come together to create the online holiday marketplace which was launched after the success of the online Share the Love auction last spring that also benefited local businesses during COVID-19.

Organizers say the marketplace, launched just in time for “Shop Small Saturday” on Nov. 28, features goods and gift certificates from local artists, shops, attractions and nonprofits. Customers can find unique gifts that give back to a community instead of a corporation. The marketplace closes at 12:00 p.m. on December 23. Click here to shop now.

In addition to the online auction, Leadville is conducting a small business/shop small month drawing to entice patrons to shop at local businesses for a chance to win a gift basket. Shoppers can participate in person and from afar. To be entered, shoppers must spend $10 or more at three businesses for a chance to win one of three gift baskets.

In-person visitors can:

  • Pick up “shop small” swag and a passport at local businesses or the Visitor Center
  • Spend at least $10 at three businesses and ask each to stamp their passport
  • Drop off their passport with its three plus stamps to the visitors center or at Grateful Paws in Leadville. Participants may also send a photo of the completed passport to Jill at sharetheloveleadville@gmail.com by December 24.

Those who wish to participate remotely can spend at least $10 at three local businesses in the Share the Love Online Holiday Marketplace and send their receipts to Jill at sharetheloveleadville@gmail.com by December 24.

The winners will be announced on December 28.  The online marketplace is sponsored by The Herald Democrat, Lake County Tourism Panel, Leadville Lake County Chamber of Commerce, Leadville Lake County Economic Development Corporation, and Leadville Main Street
