The Order of the Sons of Italy Lodge #1309 is offering their annual $500 Scholarship to Salida High School Seniors.
The local lodge offers the scholarship every spring to graduates of Salida High School or Horizons Exploratory Academy, to be used towards college or a trade/vocational school. Students must be graduating this May, 2024 and must be of Italian heritage. The 2023 award winner was Eddie Glaser.
Applicants are being asked to complete a personal statement, giving a brief history of their Italian heritage, why they are proud to be Italian Americans and why they deserve the scholarship.
Students should include their name, address, email and phone number, as well as their personal statement, GPA and high school records, showing the classes they took while in high school. Applicants should email their information to mlpuj6@gmail.com no later than April 1, 2024. Please include “Sons of Italy Scholarship” in the subject line.
The review committee will evaluate all applications after April 1. A scholarship winner will be chosen and contacted before May 10 , 2023.
