News Update: Ark Valley Voice has now independently confirmed that Pure Greens is in Colorado receivership. Cannabis growers and producers are not able to enter federal receivership because cannabis is not a federally protected business activity. Individual states have legalized and authorized the production and sale of marijuana products. Colorado legalized marijuana in 2014, so as the industry consolidates, all activity occurs at the state level.

This continues to be a developing news story. Updates will be forthcoming.

This morning Ark Valley Voice received word that our local, Chaffee County Cannabis grower, Pure Greens, is in receivership. We have not yet independently confirmed this report.

Our source says that there will be layoffs this coming Friday, May 3, and that day-to-day operations will cease.  According to our source, most employees are “set to be terminated by the end of May.

“It was inevitable once Long Play, LLC took over,” says our source…”Pure Greens (aka 12 Peaks Farms), a once thriving success story in Salida…sadly, is now in receivership. Way to kill a great company, Long Play.”

This is a developing local news story in what has lately been a consolidating industry — stay tuned for updates.
