The Weston Pass Fire in Park County has burned an estimated 47 acres and is at 10 percent containment, but no mandatory evacuations have been ordered.

The U.S. Forest Service has assumed command of the fire, which is burning in the Buffalo Peaks Wilderness Area in San Isabel National Forest northeast of Granite.

The latest information from Forest Service officials indicates that two helicopters are dropping water on the fire, and the North-West, Hartsel, Jefferson-Como, Southern Park County and Red White and Blue fire protection districts are on the scene along with Forest Service personnel.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
