Tres Litros Beer Co. (118 North E Street) in Salida is hosting a Queer Happy Hour from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26.

El Zarape Taqueria will have food available and the Partnership for Community Action (PfCA) will provide light snacks and a festive, zero-proof drink option. There will be games, tarot, and something “fun and crafty” for attendees to enjoy.

“Creating a safe and inclusive space where everyone can be themselves is the goal,” according to the invite, which invites people to join and celebrate queer joy and fellowship.

Keeping the Door Open: Skills to Answering Youth’s Sexual Health Questions

Registration is open for this workshop scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3. The workshop will be held in the Tolkien Room at the Salida Regional Library (405 E Street).

Tickets are free and available online here in addition to more information about the event.

The public is invited to join this community conversation on how to be an “askable” adult in the community. This workshop is geared for those who work closely with young people, parent young people, or aim to be a trusted adult in someone’s life.

It will explore different types of questions often asked about sexual health, tools, and strategies to answer challenging questions in hopes of keeping the door open continued questions and conversations. There will be practice time to put tools and resources to the test.

The goal is for adults to walk away with supportive sexual health and relationship resources to continue conversations at home and in their community.

Childcare, pizza, drinks, and translation are available. The location is ADA-compliant. This is a collaboration between Chaffee County Public Health, The Trailhead Institute, and the Partnership for Community Action.

For those unable to attend this event, the PfCA offers a variety of regular training opportunities each month and can customize training for specific situations. Those seeking custom training should reach out to Hello@goPfCA.com.

Don’t miss this opportunity to broaden your understanding and become a stronger ally,” states the event description.
