The next Salida Board of Education regular meeting is set for 6:00 p.m. and will be held at the Crest Academy Great Room, located at 627 Oak St., Salida. It will be preceded by a 4:30 pm. work session on the topic of the Capital Wish List.

The agenda for the regular meeting will begin with board member comments and written Messages to the Board, followed by public comments and district and campus reports.

The session will include approval and acceptance of the first year (of a five-year) Head Start and Early Head Start Grant, Award [08CH012497], and approval of an agreement to provide Early Head Start Center-Based Services at Children’s Discovery Ranch.

The session also has an extensive consent agenda of items. Regular agenda discussion items include Section G Negotiated Policies, and the district’s technology and safety infrastructure.

Action Items include approval of the district’s Strategic Financial Plan, which the district is beginning a 60-day process of community input. A second approval  item is the Critical Shortage HB 17-1176, approval of an RFP for CAT1 Project Awardee Strata not to exceed $30,000, and approval of the 627 Oak Street Remodel Final Phase Design.

All school board meetings are public meetings and the community is always welcome.  There are BOE Meeting Protocols for participating in the meeting.  Participants are encouraged to understand those protocols.
