To avoid conflicts with the Nov. 3 Election Day, Salida City Council will host both its work session and regular meeting on Monday, November 2. The work session will begin at 5:00 p.m. where the council will discuss the water and wastewater study, see a presentation of the new City website and conduct public art commission candidate interviews. Then at 6:00 p.m. the Council will host their regular meeting. Items on the agenda include consideration of approval to update a legal services agreement between the City and Murray Dahl Beery & Renaud LLP which currently provides legal counsel for the City. The council will also consider approval of the 2020 Effluent Flow Metering project. Driven by findings from the Colorado Department of Health and Environment, this effort would fix the undersized flow metering flume at the Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center.

New action items include a resolution authorizing the exercise of the city’s power of eminent domain to acquire real property for the public purpose of constructing affordable housing. These properties are located at 102 D Street and the adjoining 233 East First Street. Council will also vote to approve citizen appointments to the Public Art and Historic Preservation Commissions. Due to COVID-19 and public health concerns, both the work session and regular meeting will be held via GoToMeeting. To preregister for the regular meeting, click here.
