The First Friday “Happy Birthday Party” kicks off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 1 (yes, today) at galleries and venues all around the downtown Salida Creative District.
We know it’s the birthday of famed sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens, so that’s reason enough for a party. Maybe a Salida artist shares this date; who knows? Everyone loves a party and the artists of the Salida Creative District are well-known for merrymaking. Birthday treats and live music from Shareena Griscom-Baker are on offer from 5:00 p.m. to closing.
What’s on this month and where to find it

- Corvus: Clothing and Curiosities ends an eight-year run. Come early before their doors close for good at 6:00 p.m. on March 1
And there’s lots more on First Street as well as F Street…check out:

Complete a cupcake card and collect a reward
This month gallery-goers can pick up a blank cupcake card at any of the participating galleries. Similar to a passport book, visitors will receive a stamp at each gallery that they stop at.
When the card is complete and returned to the First Friday booth at @beengallery, (139 West First) where patrons ages 18+ can select an art mini (while supplies last) and earn a chance to win a basket of local Salida goodies.
